BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATIONS
Special activities and programs throughout L.A.
LOS ANGELES – Black History Month 2006 will include numerous programs and activities at City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks facilities in celebration of the contributions of African-Americans, both past and present.
Some events will be held at senior citizen centers and are designed for those who are age 50 or older, while others will be presented at childcare, recreation, and community centers in different parts of the city, and are either for a younger audience, or the whole family.
All programs are free, but those who are interested in attending are encouraged to contact the facility in advance for further information. The public can also call the Recreation and Parks Information Office toll-free at 1 (888) LA PARKS (527-2757).
